Hero Leap Hybrid SES is expected to launch in India in December 2022 in the expected price range

Concerning Leap Hybrid SES

Hero Leap Hybrid SES is expected to launch in India in December 2022, priced between $74,000 and $110,000. Joy e-bike Glob, PURE EV EPluto, and Hero Electric Atria are currently available bikes that are similar to the Leap Hybrid SES. Suzuki Burgman Street Electric, which will be launched in India in May 2022, is another bike that is similar to the Leap Hybrid SES.

Just prior to the 2014 Auto Expo, Hero MotoCorp announced the Leap Hybrid scooter. The Leap hybrid scooter, which was unveiled in 2012, is one of the first hybrid scooters manufactured by an Indian two-wheeler manufacturer.

The Leap Hybrid SES is powered primarily by an 8kW permanent magnet ac (PMAC) motor. This motor is lithium-ion battery driven and has a torque rating of 60Nm. While the power output (10.7bhp) is on the low side, the fact that entire 60Nm of torque is available at zero revolutions per minute makes the scooter both exhilarating and frightening. Charge the scooter by connecting it to a normal wall outlet.

Additionally, the Leap Hybrid SES features a range extender – a 124cc engine that runs on petrol from a three-litre fuel tank. This gasoline engine is coupled to an on-board generator, which directs power to the lithium-ion batteries.

Hero MotoCorp claims that the petrol engine can double the scooter’s range. When equipped with the range extender, the Leap will reach speeds of up to 100kmph. At the front, a Brembo 240mm twin-piston disc brake provides braking power.

The Leap Hybrid SES features an extremely futuristic design that may appear impractical for a production vehicle. The headlamp is mounted between the handlebars, while a ‘position light’ is mounted in the apron’s centre. The Leap Hybrid SES features an all-LED lighting system, indicating Hero MotoCorp’s future model ambitions.

The Leap Hybrid SES appears to be in its infancy, and it may be some time before it is introduced in the Indian market. Due to the complexity of the technology, we anticipate it will be priced around the Rs 1 lakh mark.
