Schools in Maharashtra’s Nashik city, which were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will reopen on December 13, according to a government official.

Because of the potential threat of the Omicron variant of coronavirus, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) had previously decided not to open schools in its jurisdiction on December 1st.

According to an official release, there are 1,85,279 students in Classes 1 through 7 in 504 schools in the NMC area, with at least 60% of parents agreeing to resume physical education classes.

Schools reopened for Classes 5 to 8 in rural areas and Classes 8 to 11 in urban areas earlier in September.
