Five Ghaziabad youths were washed away in the Ganges while bathing at Sakra Ghat in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district. Two young people drowned. The villagers rescued two young people. Mahipal, Harisingh, and other young people from the village Kerai in the district Badaun police station Jarifarnagar sell vegetables in Ghaziabad. On Ganga Dussehra, Mahipal Singh, Harisingh, and his Ghaziabad-based friend Vishnu alias Mistry also visited the village. The villagers had taken a tractor trolley to the Sakra Ghat Ganga, which is located on the border of Sambhal district from village Kerai, for Dussehra bath.
Mahipal’s brother Pramod, Harisingh, Bhagirath, Pradeep, and his companion Vishnu alias Mistry, all Ghaziabad residents, were washed away while bathing in the Ganges. The devotees bathing there made a commotion when they saw them flowing. Village Kerai residents Tejpal and Gajendra Singh saved Bhagirath and Pradeep from drowning on the beach. After other youths were swept away, the divers stationed on the ghat were notified.
Harisingh (22) and Pramod (20) were killed by the divers while unconscious in the Ganges. Vishnu (23), on the other hand, was not found. Harisingh and Pramod were taken to CHC Sarra, on the outskirts of Aligarh district, while unconscious. Both of them were declared dead by the doctors there. Divers spent four hours searching the Ganges for Vishnu but came up empty-handed. The family is in a bad situation as a result of the youth’s death.
