First Impressions of The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G

In India, Samsung has unveiled the much-anticipated Galaxy S21 FE 5G, bringing yet another premium flagship at a reasonable price. Here are some of our initial thoughts on the new flagship.

With the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Samsung is capitalising on the success of the Galaxy S20 FE. The launch of the S21 FE 5G is a logical next step after selling 10 million units of the S20 FE and S20 FE 5G editions globally. Can the Galaxy S21 FE, on the other hand, live up to the hype?

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a premium flagship design that is similar to the Galaxy S21 series. Given the new wave of flagships on the market, the smartphone offers a fairly premium package at a price that can no longer be considered exorbitant. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is priced at Rs. 54,999 for the 128GB model and Rs. 58,999 for the 256GB model, but there’s a Rs 5,000 cashback offer on HDFC Bank cards for a limited time.

Here are our initial thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G.

First Impressions Are Important.

From what we can tell, the design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is a big part of the phone’s USP. The phone is packaged in a sleek box and does not include a power adaptor. Aside from the phone, you’ll find a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and a SIM eject pin in the box. However, in order to reduce e-waste, most flagships will be designed in this manner.

Moving on to the phone, where the majority of the action takes place, the Galaxy S21 FE is heavily influenced by the Galaxy S21. The phone, like the S21, has a swept-back camera module that fuses into the frame, but the back panel is plastic. The smooth matte finish is pleasant to the touch and resists smudges, but it lacks the premium feel. On the plus side, the phone is smaller and lighter, making it easier to use with one hand.

Samsung has even managed to provide IP68 protection, so a plastic back is no longer a regrettable choice. In terms of durability, the Galaxy S21 FE outperforms phones with glass bodies.

The phone’s metal chassis adds some weight, weighing in at 177 grammes. The phone’s power button and volume rockers are located on the right side. The buttons are positioned in such a way that pressing the volume up button requires stretching your thumb or index finger.

A 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display on the front keeps Samsung’s reputation intact. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate, which ensures smooth transitions. It has excellent haptic feedback.

The display is colourful and vibrant, making it ideal for multimedia enthusiasts. On top, there’s a punch-hole camera that doesn’t get in the way of any content you’re watching, whether it’s gaming or streaming. Samsung displays have never been a source of criticism, and the Galaxy S21 FE has one of the best displays on the market. Finally, the optical fingerprint sensor built into the display works flawlessly.

The performance of the Galaxy S21 FE, which is powered by Exynos 2100, the same SoC as the Galaxy S21 series, is something we’re really looking forward to seeing. This phone will almost certainly deliver flagship-level performance, as we have seen with the S21 siblings. We’ll continue to put the phone through daily tests to iron out any kinks.
