Cosmetic changes and a new dashboard design to accommodate the passenger airbag will also be included in the updated Bolero.
The Bolero is one of Mahindra’s best-selling vehicles, and the manufacturer has kept it fresh with incremental upgrades throughout the past two decades it has been on the market. The Bolero had its most recent redesign in March, when it was also modified to meet BS6 emission standards. Mahindra is currently working on a new upgrade, which will be released later this month.

What will be new in the Mahindra Bolero in 2022?
The Bolero’s design is unlikely to undergo considerable modifications, though it could be upgraded with dual-tone paint and additional single-tone paint possibilities. According to reports, the Bolero could get a new red paint colour with contrasting dual-tone treatment. The Bolero is now available in only three monochromatic colour schemes: white, silver, and brown, and the addition of dual-tone colour schemes will breathe new life into the vehicle.
The inside, on the other hand, will receive the most attention. A single driver side airbag is now offered on the Bolero. As previously reported, the government had ordered that twin airbags be installed as standard on all new automobiles starting in April — a rule that had already taken effect – and that existing vehicles on the market be equipped with two airbags starting in January 2022.
As a result, the Bolero will need to be equipped with a passenger side airbag, which may need dashboard changes. The Bolero currently has a large grab bar on the passenger side of the dashboard, which leaves no area for an airbag. As a result, the Bolero will be updated to include a passenger airbag. The Bolero received an entirely new steering wheel from the now-discontinued TUV300 the last time it was equipped with a driver side airbag.
Mahindra Bolero 2022: Specifications
We don’t expect any modifications to the equipment list other from the installation of a passenger side airbag. That means features like a Bluetooth-enabled audio system with AUX and USB inputs, manual air conditioning, keyless entry, power steering, and a semi-digital instrument panel will remain.
A driver-side airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and speed alert are all standard safety equipment across the range. It’s worth noting that the Bolero is the only vehicle with metal bumpers in India that meets pedestrian safety standards.
Details about the Mahindra Bolero’s engine and transmission for 2022
The Bolero will be powered by the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel mHawk75 engine, which produces 75 horsepower and 210 Nm and is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels alone. A four-wheel-drive version of the Bolero is not available.
