Cops say Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the Moosewala murder

Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, special commissioner of police (special cell), told reporters at Delhi Police headquarters that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was the “main conspirator” in Moosewala’s murder.

The Delhi Police said on Wednesday that incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was the “mastermind” behind the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala, more than a week after remanding the 30-year-old criminal in connection with a separate case.

Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, special commissioner of police (special cell), told reporters at Delhi Police headquarters that Bishnoi was the “main conspirator” in Moosewala’s murder.

“There was a massive plot to assassinate the Punjabi singer.” In this case, we’ve identified at least five people and are sharing their information with our counterparts in other states. “They’ll be arrested soon,” Dhaliwal said.

The news broke on the same day that Mumbai Police’s crime branch arrived in the capital to question Bishnoi about the threat letter sent to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his father, screenwriter Salim Khan, in Mumbai.

“The Maharashtra police have arrested Siddhesh Hiraman Kamle, alias Mahakal, who was involved in a recent killing in Punjab’s Moga district, based on our information.” Mahakal is being held in Maharashtra Police custody for 14 days in a case under the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act). He’s a close friend of one of the shooters, but he wasn’t involved in the murders,” Dhaliwal said.

The police, on the other hand, have not revealed the motive for the Moosewala murder or how Bishnoi managed to carry it out despite being imprisoned in the high-security Tihar jail.

“Only the Punjab Police have access to these details.” As the national capital’s enforcement agency, our role is to assist them. Since the day of the incident, four different teams have been working on it. In this case, the role of Sachin Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi’s relative, has been established,” the senior officer said.

On May 29, Moosewala was shot and killed in Jawaharke village in Punjab’s Mansa district.

When contacted, a member of the Mumbai Police crime branch stated that they had come to question Bishnoi in order to determine his role in the threat letter sent to Salman Khan and his father. “At this time, we have no involvement in the murder of a Punjabi singer.” “The crime branch works on defined and focused assignments all of the time,” said the officer, who asked to remain anonymous.

Despite multiple phone calls and text messages, Bishnoi’s lawyer, Vishal Chopra, was unavailable for comment.

Bishnoi, who was already detained in Tihar jail number 8 in connection with an arms smuggling case filed against him last year, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police special cell on May 31. Bishnoi has been held in Tihar jail since last year, when Delhi Police filed a case against him and his gang members under the MCOCA Act. Bishnoi and his associates allegedly merged their gang with Delhi gangsters and committed crimes in the national capital, according to police. According to the Delhi Police, Bishnoi allegedly assisted Delhi-based gangs with weapons in the alleged case of arms smuggling.

After the Delhi Police submitted that they needed to question him about his accomplices in other states, a city court extended Bishnoi’s police custody by five days on June 5. He was on remand with the Delhi Police’s special cell two days before Moosewala’s murder.

Meanwhile, a Punjab government release on Wednesday claimed that Moosewala’s murder was committed on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang by gangster Goldy Brar. “The state police have left no stone unturned in their pursuit of the extradition of gangster Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib who entered Canada on a student visa in 2017.” He is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang,” according to the press release.

Since their college days at Panjab University, Bishnoi and Goldy Brar have been in the same gang. According to police, Bishnoi runs the gang from behind bars, while Brar operates out of Canada.
