Bhumi Pednekar: like to see my films in theatres, but not at the expense of people’s safety

Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the actress Bhumi Pednekar, is concerned about the rising number of cases of Covid-19 in the country and hopes that things do not worsen.

Bhumi Pednekar has four films scheduled for release this year, but their success is contingent on the outcome of India’s Covid-19 crisis. And the actor says she’d like to see the stories brought to life on the big screen, but not at the expense of her safety and health.

“It’s depressing” (the effect that the restrictions have on the entertainment industry). All of my releases this year were something I was really looking forward to. “But human life is more important,” Pednekar says. “I would have at least one or two in the first quarter.” I really want my films to be released in theatres, but that can’t happen if the virus spreads out of control.”

Pednekar, 32, spent the majority of last year filming projects like Govinda Naam Mera, Badhaai Do, and Raksha Bandhan, and she promises that each project reveals a different side of her personality. She predicts that 2022 will be a busy year for her.

“I had a good year in 2021, shooting four films.” Despite the fact that great things were happening for me, a few months were particularly difficult. It was a year in which I, along with my family, became ill and recovered. Now, I’m very enthusiastic about all of the films I’ve completed. This year will also be extremely busy due to the projects that I have planned. “I am overwhelmed with gratitude,” says the actor, who was most recently seen in Durgamati: The Legend

There is a lot of uncertainty right now as a result of the spike in virus cases and the restrictions that have been imposed in several parts of the country. Pednekar, who was infected with the virus last year, admits that he is concerned.

“I hope people put on masks and follow the government’s instructions… all the protocols.” Some important states have already been restricted to the yellow level. There are children who have begun attending school. “More than us, we should kind of take on some responsibility for the younger generation and make sure they don’t go through the last few years again,” the actor asserts.

Last year, during the second wave, Pednekar left the wave to assist people who were making SOS calls. She also claims to be carrying a lot of lessons with her into 2022.

“If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the past, it’s that we can’t let the third wave be as deadly as the second.” The economy must function, and we, as individuals, must ensure that whatever we do is done responsibly in order for the economy to function,” she concludes.
