Benelli TRK 702 Has Been Revealed; It Appearances To Be Ready For Production

The upcoming Benelli TRK 702 will sit between the TRK 502, which is currently sold in India, and the TRK 800, which was unveiled at last year’s EICMA show.

For the Chinese-owned Italian motorcycle brand, the Benelli TRK 502 has been a very popular mid-size adventure touring motorcycle in Europe. Indeed, the TRK 502 has been a globally popular model, not just in Italy. Now, Benelli, which is owned by China’s Qianjiang Group, is preparing to expand the TRK range of adventure touring models with the addition of a new TRK 702 model powered by a 693 cc parallel-twin engine. The first images of the upcoming Benelli TRK 702 have emerged, following the brand’s filing for type approval.

The TRK 702 is not, however, a scaled-down version of the Benelli TRK 800, which was unveiled at last year’s EICMA show in Milan. Unlike the TRK 800’s 754 cc twin, which is shared with the 752S roadster and the Leoncino 800, the TRK 702’s 693 cc twin is shared with sister brand QJMotor’s machines in the Chinese market. Although similar to the TRK 800, the design is entirely new, as is the bike’s steel trellis frame. The parallel-twin engine with a displacement of 694 cc is expected to produce approximately 75 bhp.

At least two versions of the Benelli TRK 702 are depicted in the type approval images, one with wire spoke wheels and another with alloy wheels. The version with wire spoke wheels features a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, while the version with alloy wheels features a smaller 17-inch front wheel. The images indicate that the bike is nearing production, and we anticipate that Benelli will reveal the final version in the coming months. As of now, there is no word on any India launch plans.
