Balika Vadhu 2: Randeep Rai suffers a serious injury, Shivangi Joshi is overcome with emotion

MUMBAI: After his role in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Randeep Rai rose to prominence.

While fans awaited his return to television, he has returned with the second instalment of the cult series Balika Vadhu 2.

Despite a recent heel fracture, he continues to shoot.

“I fractured my heel last Saturday,” he says. I was really looking forward to shooting the college track on the second day. I needed to make a heroic entrance for the scene, but I tripped over something and landed hard on my left heel, breaking it. Since then, I’ve been unable to walk properly and have been confined to a wheelchair.”

Despite his injury, he has continued to show up at the shoot for his close-ups. He even recently shared a photo from the shoot on his Instagram page. “I had to post about it on Instagram because the audience was wondering if something was wrong with my track,” he explains. We don’t have a backlog of episodes, so we have no choice but to keep shooting. My dupe is filming the majority of my scenes, while I am only providing close-ups.”

While the doctor has advised him to rest for at least eight weeks, Randeep is optimistic that he will be able to recover sooner. “I’m hoping to be able to walk in three weeks,” he says. I’m grateful to my housekeeper for taking such good care of me.”

Shooting while confined to a wheelchair, according to the actor, is exasperating. “Rather than my co-actors, I’m shooting my scenes with the assistant director,” he adds. When you’re in a wheelchair, it’s difficult to act out emotional scenes. Shooting with a fractured heel is frustrating, but I can’t let it affect my performance.

Now I’m dealing with things in a more positive light. I’m powerless to stop it. Ho chuka jo hona tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha I was upset at first. However, I decided not to dwell on it too much and instead concentrate on how I can continue to work despite the setback.”

We wish Randeep the best of luck in his recovery.
