Following the Pulsar N250 and F250, which were released late last year, the N160 will be the second of the next-generation Pulsar models. Just over a month ago, the bike was spotted testing in India, and it appeared to be close to being ready for production. Bajaj appears to be getting ready to release the bike very soon.

The unusual activity recently seen on the official Pulsar social media accounts, as shown in the screenshot below, adds to this. The company appears to be working on something significant, and an official announcement from Bajaj is expected before the end of the month. However, because the entire industry is still dealing with a semiconductor shortage, there may be a slight pause in the process.

The bike itself has a design that is very similar to the Pulsar N250. The wheel design, box section swingarm, rising tail section, overall bodywork, and signature tail-lamp are all reminiscent of the larger Pulsar.

The engine, in contrast to the 250’s side-slung end-can, appears to be smaller in size and has an underbelly exhaust unit. While a kick-starter is visible, as on the Pulsar NS160, the test mule’s engine covers aren’t the same shape or design as the NS160’s. As a result, determining whether or not an oil cooler is present is difficult (the NS160 gets one). It’s unclear whether Bajaj is tweaking the NS160’s engine or developing a new engine in this displacement range (possibly by downsizing the N250’s).

Aside from the N160, we also noticed Bajaj testing a new Pulsar 125 with a few interesting features, which could be the company’s next launch.
