Bajaj Auto became most popular motorcycle brand in sales

The combined sales of Bajaj Auto in the month of November 2021 stood at 3.38 lakhs as exports accounted for a total of 1,93,520 units.

Bajaj Auto has issued an official statement stating that in the month of November 2021, it sold around 3.38 lakh motorcycles in both the local and foreign markets. As a result, it has surpassed Honda as the most popular motorcycle manufacturer, with 1,44,442 units sold domestically and 1,93,520 units exported.

Exports have been driving significant volumes for the Chakan-based brand, with last month’s total exceeding the combined totals of the following three competitors. This comes amid a hard global financial environment, as well as manufacturing limits in the broader two-wheeler industry due to a variety of factors.

Bajaj recently introduced the F250 and N250, the world’s largest displacement Pulsars, priced reasonably at Rs. 1.40 lakh and Rs. 1.38 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom). Both are powered by a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled fuel-injected engine with a peak power output of 24.5 PS and peak torque of 21.5 Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed transmission and includes a slipper and assist clutch as standard equipment.

In terms of design, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 is an evolution of the NS200 and the F250, which were based on the now-discontinued 220F, but the new tubular chassis, new body panels, bigger brakes assisted by a single-channel ABS system, revised instrument cluster, and other updated mechanicals have helped it become a compelling package.

Sales of the Bajaj Pulsar series have surpassed one lakh units three times in the Financial Year 2022, with a YTD average of 97,000 units. The entry-level Bajaj Platina commuter’s sales increased this year in the local market, while export markets such as Nigeria, Egypt, and Mexico saw the biggest ever motorcycle retail sales.

“To be the top manufacturer in the most trying situations is a real indication of Bajaj Auto’s tenacity and a consequence of our dedication to serve worldwide customers through differentiated products and outstanding propositions,” said Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto. Despite the environment’s unpredictability, our presence in over 70 countries has helped us to maintain a consistent performance.”
