Amazon Prime Video Acquires OTT Rights To KGF Chapter 2, Find Out More

Amazon Prime Video has purchased the digital streaming rights to KGF: Chapter 2 starring Yash. The film will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the following languages: Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. However, no date has been established for the film’s over-the-top release.

Meanwhile, KGF: Chapter 2, which opened in cinemas on April 14, grossed more than Rs 100 crore on its opening day. The film’s audience and critics alike are in awe at Yash’s outstanding performance.

On its first day of release, the film grossed Rs. 134 crore at the box office. The Hindi version grossed over Rs 64 crore on its opening day, while the Karnataka release earned Rs 28 crore. Additionally, the Yash starrer grossed Rs 30 crore in Telugu-speaking territories, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala made Rs 8 crore each.

Prashanth Neel directed KGF: Chapter 2 and Vijay Kiragandur produced it under the aegis of Hombale Films. The film is a follow-up to KGF: Chapter 1 from 2018.

The film’s cinematography was handled by Bhuvan Gowda, while its soundtrack was composed by Ravi Basrur.

Yash

The plot of KGF: Chapter 2 centres on Rocky (played by Yash), who, after establishing himself as the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields, must maintain his domination against opponents and government authorities while also confronting his past.

KGF: Chapter 2 is Kannada’s most expensive film to date, having been made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. Additionally, it is the first Kannada film to be screened in IMAX.

Originally intended for release on 23 October 2020, the film would have coincided with the Dussehra celebration. However, because to the COVID-19 epidemic, the release was delayed many times.

The post-credits scene for KGF: Chapter 2 included a preview of the final script of K.G.F: Chapter 3, implying a sequel. Additionally, Prashant Neel previously stated that if the audience like KGF: Chapter 2, the franchise may be extended.
