All women over age of 18 will receive Rs 1,000 per month – Arvind Kejriwal

The AAP leader also stated that his government would increase the Griha Aadhar scheme benefit for homemakers in the state from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, announced on Sunday that if the AAP forms the next government in Goa, all women over the age of 18 will receive Rs 1,000 per month. The move, according to the AAP national convener, is possibly the “world’s largest women empowerment programme.”

“No government in any part of the world” has implemented such a scheme, according to Kejriwal. “What does it mean to empower women?” It occurs when women are financially self-sufficient. Money has a lot of clout. “Women will achieve freedom when they have their own money,” he continued.

The AAP leader also stated that his government would increase the Griha Aadhar scheme benefit for homemakers in the state from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500.

“As soon as the AAP government is formed,” he told a crowd in South Goa’s Navelim, “every woman aged above 18, daughter, sister, mother, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, and grandmother will get Rs 1,000 per month in their accounts.” If a family has more than one woman over the age of 18, each will receive Rs 1,000.”

Those who are financially better off can choose not to receive the benefit, according to Kejriwal. “There are young women who are unable to attend college because their fathers are unable to afford it.” With this money, they can attend college. If the AAP is elected, no woman in Goa will have to rely on her father or husband for small financial needs. He noted that “this scheme will financially empower women.”

The announcement is a financially sound one, according to Kejriwal, and serves as his “fifth guarantee” to Goa voters. “The budget for Goa is Rs 22,000 crore. “We can provide 300 units of free electricity, unemployment allowance, free pilgrimage, Griha Aadhar, and monthly allowance to all women above the age of 18 years if we eliminate 20% corruption charges from the budget, which is Rs 4,000 crore,” he explained. He claimed that implementing the scheme would not cost more than Rs 1,000 crore.

Political leaders in Goa, according to the Delhi Chief Minister, were only talking about party alliances or were busy jumping ships ahead of the Legislative Assembly elections in February next year. “It’s all very ugly and filthy,” added Kejriwal. He claimed that none of these parties were discussing jobs, education, or other issues that the people of Goa were facing. “We’re putting together a development strategy for Goa.” Nobody else is doing it. They have no connection to Goa. “All they want to do is loot Goa,” the AAP leader said.
