Maruti Suzuki Baleno 2022: Specifications
The new Baleno will be available in the same four variants as the previous model: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. All four variants will come standard with a manual transmission, with the exception of the base model receiving a new AMT transmission. The new AMT gearbox will replace the more expensive CVT gearbox from the outgoing model, as we previously reported. This is being done so that customers can access the automatic variants more easily.
Color options for The Maruti Suzuki Baleno in 2022
Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Opulent Red, and Luxe Beige are the six monotone colour options for the new Baleno. All other colour options on the 2022 Baleno will be new, with the exception of white, which will be carried over.
The Baleno will also come with a segment-first head-up display, among other features, according to Maruti Suzuki. More information on the 2022 Baleno’s exterior design updates and new features can be found here.
Details on The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s Engine and Transmission
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the existing 90hp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid technology will continue to be offered in the new Baleno. However, it is unclear whether the current model’s 83hp K12N petrol engine will be retained.
The 1.2-litre DualJet engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission. The Swift and the Dzire both come with the Dualjet engine and AMT gearbox. While the AMT gearbox will lower the price of automatic versions, it will be a step down from the smoother CVT gearbox.
Rivals for The Maruti Suzuki Baleno in 2022
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno will compete with the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza, and Volkswagen Polo when it is released. The new Baleno is expected to command a reasonable premium over the outgoing model, given the overall improvement in features and quality.
