All India Junior Ranking Badminton Event Cancelled Due To Covid Crisis

HYDERABAD: The rising Covid-19 scenario has dealt a setback to domestic badminton.
During the 1st Ashwani Gupta Memorial All-India sub-junior ranking event in Panchkula, three players tested positive. Despite these favourable results, the tournament will go on.

The 29th Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament, which was planned to take place from January 11 to 17, has been cancelled.

According to BAI secretary Ajay Kumar Singhania, “because to an increase in Covid-19 instances in the state of Haryana, state government authorities have urged not to conduct the All India Junior Ranking Tournament from January 11 to 17, at Panchkula.”

Meanwhile, the Jwala Gutta Academy in this city has been shut down for a week after three players tested positive for the drug. All three of them are academy inmates. Many of the 80 players are competing in other competitions.
