Top Dolla, a former WWE star, appears to be sticking with pro wrestling, but it appears that AEW is not an option for him.
While in NXT, Top Dolla was said to have rubbed some people the wrong way, and the same thing was said to be happening on the main roster, so he may have rubbed some people in AEW the wrong way as well.
Many of you will recall Top Dolla’s and The Young Bucks’ social media exchanges with Max Caster. Top Dolla was rumoured to be the star of Hit Row at the time, and Vince McMahon wanted to promote him as a singles star. B-Fab was released a few weeks later, and the rest of the group was released in the following wave of cuts.
When asked when Top Dolla would be coming to AEW during a recent live stream, Sammy Guevara quickly replied, “Never.”
For what it’s worth, Guevara appeared to be having a good time on the stream, so his word may not be final, but he is friends with the people who make the final decisions at the company.
We’ve heard that independent promoters are interested in booking Top Dolla for their events, but we haven’t heard anything about AEW or Impact Wrestling yet. Once his non-compete agreement expires, that could change.
