Ajax Celebrate Dusan Tadic’s Incredible Record Breaking

On Twitter, there was a lot of confusion because two of Dusan Tadic’s assists came during friendlies and shouldn’t be counted.
Serbia midfielder Dusan Tadic has broken Lionel Messi’s record for most assists in a calendar year, according to a tweet from Dutch football club Ajax. When he was playing for Barcelona in 2011, the Argentine forward set a new record with 36 assists.

With 37 assists this season, the former Southampton playmaker has now surpassed the decade-old record set by the Paris Saint-Germain star. On Twitter, however, confusion reigned supreme, with several fans claiming that two of Tadic’s assists were earned during friendly matches and should not be counted.
