According to Reports, Rupert Murdoch And Jerry Hall are Divorcing

The media mogul and the supermodel-turned-actress were wed for six years.

Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch are reportedly getting divorced. The New York Times’ sources, who broke the story of the breakup, “would talk only anonymously to discuss a personal subject,” according to the newspaper.

Murdorch had previously been married to Patricia Booker from 1956 to 1967, Anna Maria Torv from 1967 to 1999, and Wendi Deng from 1999 to 2014. This would be his fourth divorce.

Hall has dated a number of well-known people during her life, but she has only ever been married once, to rock icon Mick Jagger, from 1990 to 1999. (though they were together since 1977).

Technically, this was Hall’s first marriage because her union to Jagger in Bali, Indonesia, was ruled to be unlawful by the law. Each of them has kids from prior relationships.

Following a rumoured set-up by Murdoch’s niece and sister, Murdoch and Hall first appeared in public together in October 2015.

After only four months of dating, they experienced a quick romance and got engaged in January 2016. Murdoch and Hall were married in London in March 2016 when Murdoch was 85 and Hall was 59. At the time, Murdoch tweeted, “Feel like the luckiest AND happiest man in the world.”

Murdoch and Hall have not publicly denied the divorce rumours. The New York Times reports that Murdoch’s separation from his four eldest children, Lachlan, Elisabeth, James, and Prudence, won’t have a significant impact on his ownership of his companies, which includes the parent company of Fox News.

“Murdoch splits voting rights over that trust with his four oldest children—Lachlan, Elisabeth, James, and Prudence—and has arranged them so that he can never be outvoted,” the newspaper writes.
