A record order of 10k Tigor Electric XpresT has been placed with Tata Motors

BluSmart Electric Mobility has placed a 10k Tata XPRESS EV fleet order to expand its fully-electric ride hailing service network.

BluSmart Electric Mobility and Tata Motors have reached an agreement. The latter will receive 10,000 XPREST EVs from the manufacturer. This is Tata Motors’ largest ever EV fleet order in India. Tigor Electric’s commercial segment is known as XpresT EV. This order is in addition to a previous order of 3.5k XPRES T EVs, and will begin soon. In October of 2022, the first order was signed.

BluSmart is employing an electric vehicle fleet for commuters in order to reduce carbon emissions. In July 2021, the Tata XPRES brand was introduced. Customers who own a fleet can use the platform. And the XPRES-T EV is the first vehicle available as a result of this collaboration. The XPRES-T electric sedan comes with two different ride range options: 213km and 165km (ARAI certified range under test conditions).

The fleet editions use a 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh high-density battery, respectively. They can be charged in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively, from 0 to 80 percent. On a 15 A plug point, you can choose between fast charging and normal charging.

Tigor Electric XpresT models come standard with zero tailpipe emissions, a single-speed automatic transmission, dual airbags, and ABS with EBD. The interior of the EXPRES-T cars is finished in a premium black theme with Electric Blue accents on the inside and out. The color scheme was designed to set the fleet cars apart from Tata PVs.

Tata Motors is the market leader in the electric vehicle photovoltaic (EV PV) segment.

Tata Motors is the market leader in the e-mobility sector. In FY22, Tata’s electric vehicle market share was 87 percent, with over 25k Tata EVs on the road in the personal and fleet segments. In recent years, Tata electric cars have been introduced into government and police fleets.

The fact that the electric car segment has relatively few players contributes to the current market space dominance. As a result, while buyers scour the market, their options are largely limited to Tata electric cars, which are the only options in the entry-level segment.
