8,520 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Odisha, with 6 more deaths

Bhubaneswar, Jan 23 (PTI) Odisha recorded 8,520 coronavirus cases on Sunday, down 325 from the previous day, bringing the total to 12,04,660, according to the health department’s bulletin.

The state had 8,845 new cases and seven deaths as of Saturday.

According to the bulletin, the death toll has risen to 8,520, with six more people killed.

In the past, 53 other COVID-19 patients in the state have died from comorbidities.

According to the department, at least 11,344 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 11,10,767.

There are currently 85,320 active cases in Odisha, with 31,501 in Khurda.

The rate of test positivity was 11.75 percent. It said the Khurda district, which includes Bhubaneswar, had 2,262 new infections, followed by Sundargarh with 932 and Cuttack with 789.

According to the bulletin, 937 children have been infected with the virus in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, the coastal state tested 72,524 samples for COVID-19.

Khurda, Sundargarh, Cuttack, and Balasore are all in the red zone, with over 2,500 active cases in each of these districts.
