An official said that 55 paramilitary companies will be deployed in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district for the peaceful conduct of assembly elections on February 10.
The district has six assembly constituencies and 20,20,826 voters, including 9,37,688 women, according to District Magistrate Chandra Bhushan Singh.
He explained that the district has been divided into 25 zones and 156 sectors, with zonal and sectoral magistrates in charge of each.
For the peaceful conduct of assembly elections, 55 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed in the district.
CAPF companies typically have around a hundred members.
238 antisocial elements have been “expelled” from the district for six months, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, and 200 more will be expelled as a preventive measure.
