3 Picnickers Killed in a Road Accident, CM has Announced Rs 2 lakh Payment to the Deceased’s Family

The CM declares Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for the kin of three picnickers killed in a traffic accident.

On Saturday, a truck rammed into a bus on NH 16 in Khurda district, killing three people and injuring nine others.

According to police, the accident occurred at Belapada Chhak while the bus carrying 19 picnickers was returning from the Maa Tarini shrine in Ghatagaon, Keonjhar district.

Two people died on the spot, while an injured person died later in the hospital.

The injured were taken to the Balugaon Hospital.

The specific cause of the accident is yet unknown.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his condolences for the deaths of three students in the accident and provided an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to each of their families.

The deceased was from Rangeilunda in Ganjam district’s Gopalpur tehsil.

Patnaik wished the injured a speedy recovery and instructed district officials to provide all possible assistance in their care.
