Polestar, a stand-alone electric vehicle brand, has unveiled a new limited-run performance variant of the 2. The performance model, known as the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270, has the same amount of power as the standard all-wheel-drive Polestar 2 long-range, but it has a bespoke suspension setup, sits lower to the ground, and has cosmetic tweaks to stand out. The Polestar 2 BST Edition, as the name suggests, is limited to only 270 units worldwide, with production set to begin later this year.

The BST Edition has an all-wheel-drive layout, with the electric motors producing a combined 469 bhp and 680 Nm – similar figures were available as part of an over-the-air update for the all-wheel-drive 2. The BST, on the other hand, gets new Ohlins dampers with two-way adjustment, stiffer springs, and a new front strut bar. The model is 25mm lower to the ground than the standard 2 model. The BST Edition rides on custom 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

The 78kWh battery in the BST Edition is the same as in the regular Polestar 2.

On the cosmetic front, the standard Polestar 2’s black lower body elements have been refinished in body color, with buyers having the option to add a black stripe running the length of the car for an additional cost. Gold-finished brake callipers, tyre valve caps, and seatbelts are also unique to the BST Edition, harkening back to some Polestar Engineered Volvo models prior to Polestar going standalone. With a ‘charcoal weavetech’ interior, the special edition is only available in grey or white.

The Polestar 2 special edition will only be available in the United States and Europe.
