218 People Died During Monsoon Season In Rain Ravaged Himachal: Government

A complete of 218 folks have died and 12 are lacking in Himachal Pradesh within the final three weeks this monsoon season, Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur knowledgeable the state Assembly on Wednesday.

Replying to a dialogue on local weather change on the third day of the continued monsoon session, Mr Thakur mentioned the state suffered a complete lack of Rs 451.56 crore attributable to broken roads, water strains and energy transmission since June 13.

A most of 34 folks died in Shimla, adopted by 25 in Kangra, 23 in Sirmaur, 21 in Chamba, 19 in Mandi, 18 in Lahaul-Spiti, 17 in Kullu, 16 in Solan, 14 every in Una and Kinnaur, 12 in Bilaspur and 5 in Hamirpur from June 13 to July 3, he added.

Several roads, bridges, PWD property, water strains had been totally or partially broken attributable to heavy rains, he mentioned.

The state authorities has thus far suffered a lack of Rs 451.56 crore, the minister mentioned.

Global warming is leading to local weather change which generally causes drought-like conditions and generally heavy rains, he added.

Earlier taking part within the dialogue, Congress’s Kinnaur MLA Jagat Singh Negi acknowledged that 70 per cent of the crops of farmers in Lahaul have been broken as they have been unable to take their ripe crops to the mandis attributable to broken bridges and roads.

The state of affairs couldn’t be correctly managed by the federal government and the administration after the cloudburst in Udaipur subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti district, he alleged.

Several folks needed to spend some days in a cave because the administration couldn’t rescue them, he claimed.

Earlier, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal (Congress), Vishal Nehriya (BJP), Balbir Singh Verma (BJP) and Jiya Lal (BJP) additionally spoke on the influence of local weather change on the folks, particularly on the agriculturists and horticulturists.
