Only 12 of the 153 people infected with Omicron in the city had travelled internationally, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

However, according to a statement issued by the Maharashtra government earlier this evening, 190 of the 198 Omicron cases reported in the state were from Mumbai. It was impossible to reconcile the disparity between state and BMC statistics.

According to the latest BMC report, the number of Omicron-infected Mumbai residents without a history of international travel has risen to 160. The city’s total number of Omicron cases has risen to 290.

The highest number of people who tested positive for Omicron are from the K-west ward, which includes Andheri West, Juhu, and Versova, followed by the D ward, which includes Malabar Hill, Mahalaxmi, and Tardeo.
