13 people were killed in a massive blast at a UP factory near Delhi, as captured by CCTV

The force of the explosion was so powerful that it damaged the roofs of several nearby factories. Firefighters had to put out the fire for three hours.

On Saturday, an explosion at a factory in western Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district killed 13 people and injured at least 16 others, according to security camera footage.

When the incident occurred at the factory in the UPSIDC industrial area in Dholana, about 80 kilometers from the national capital, there were around 30 people in the affected area, according to the police.

According to officials, the factory was given a permit to manufacture electronic items, but it had previously been producing firecrackers.

The factory’s owner has been named in a police investigation, but has yet to be apprehended.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have all expressed their sorrow over the deaths.

Experts will investigate the incident, according to the Chief Minister.

Adityanath asked the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the families of those killed and injured in a statement released in Lucknow.
